ReplTalk ReplTip – Replication Agent fails with “unable to start correctly”

When you have a large number of SQL Server Agent or Replication Agent Jobs running, some of the Jobs may not even start. You might see an error like this in the Event log:

“The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142). Click OK to close the application”

To work around this issue do not run all the SQL Agent Replication Jobs under the same domain or Windows account.  Change some of the Replication Job Agent “Owner” to different accounts.
